Berlin 2012 was EPIC!

Dear readers,

Yesterday I got back from my trip to Berlin and boy, what a trip it was! Berlin never ceases to amaze me! If any of you have ever been there, I am sure you agree with me :) From Wednesday till Sunday we were with a total of 12 people and from Sunday till yesterday it was just me and my boyfriend. I think it's great to be out with a group, but I also find it important to have some down time with just my boyfriend. So what did we do? We went clubbing EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, we hired a tandem, we segwayed, we enjoyed ourselves at one of the many small beach terraces of Berlin, we shopped, we had very good food, we visited some cultural stuff and we LAUGHED...A LOT!!! :)

Here some random shots of our trip to Berlin.

Berlin, here I come again!

Dear readers,

Berlin is definitely one of my favorite cities in the world and since it is just a 7 hour ride away, I try to go once every year. This year I am going with a group of friends and can't wait to see what adventures Berlin has in store for us!

I am always open to discovering new things, so if you have some great tips, please share them with me! :) Thanks!

We are leaving this Wednesday and I will be back next week Wednesday and promise to post some pictures then!

Love, Melissa

Tacheles!

Dear readers,

I promise this will be the last post about Berlin! I am just so impressed by the city :)

So I wanted to write about this crazy arthouse called "Tacheles". This is also the place where I bought my 'tea-spoon-ring' (see previous post). It is housed in a squat and it's got graffiti all over the place. Different type of artists show their collection at Tacheles. The collections are really not the classic type of art, which you might expect. Let's say they think out-of-the-box :) Maybe it's better if I stop trying to explain what you will come across when visiting Tacheles and just show you the pictures I made from when I visited this arthouse.

Some weird art, right? However, if you want to have some more information about Tacheles or if you want to know where they are located so you can visit it next time you are in Berlin, click on this link.

P.S. Did you see me in the first photo? :)

New stuff from Berlin

Dear readers,

Today I found some time to make photos of the things I bought in Berlin. You have so many nice boutiques and artists shops in Berlin, I loved it! I bought a ripped skinny jeans from Phard, black skinny pants from Phard, a nude coloured blouse/top/body from Phard, earrings from Who Killed Bambi, a really cute handbag from Who Killed Bambi and a ring made out of a teaspoon, which I bought at an artist shop.

Which item do you like most?

Berlin...you're awesome!!!

Dear readers,

Back from my trip and what else to tell than that Berlin is GREAT!!! Too bad we did not have good weather, but it did not hold us back from enjoying Berlin as much as possible, only then in a different way! Let's say my friend and I have a great knowledge as to how Berlin is today instead of back in the days, meaning we enjoyed Berlin's nightlife A LOT! So not a problem to share some tips for a great night out in Berlin, as that is exactly what we did 5 days long lol! Whenever you're planning to visit Berlin, keep in mind that nightlife starts at around 3 AM. This, because Berlin does not obligate clubs to close at a certain time, so dancing until 10 AM is really normal! Also, Berlin is famous for its electro and techno, so don't expect a lot of clubs with reggea or salsa.

Anyhow, if you want to have a really great, but weird experience, try to go to "Suicide Circus" (I know, freaky name) or to "Berghein/Panorama Bar". These two clubs are so amazing! Believe me, you will have something to talk about. Just don't pay attention as to where the clubs are located nor to the decor!

Here a photo of Berghein:

And here one of Suicide Circus:

Another great lounge club is "Club der Visionaire" which is located at a waterside. Here a photo taken while it was still light outside:

Have you ever been to Berlin? If so, what were your favourite places to go to at night?

Berlin, here I come!

Dear readers,

Sorry for not writing as often as I would like to, but I have just been so damn busy! Tomorrow I will leave to Berlin for a short city break. I'll be back on Monday, but keep in mind that I will not be posting these coming days. Sorry for that!

Anyway, speaking about Berlin...has anyone of you been there? I've been there once, some 2 or 3 years ago, and I fell instantly in love with the city! I think it has so much history which you can really feel and experience when wandering through the different areas in Berlin, I describe it as Berlin being "raw". Aside from that, you have a mixture of cultures in Berlin, not just as in nationalities, but also in values and beliefs. I love that you can see a gothic and an almost nazi-like group sitting next to eachother on a terrace, while in the background hearing Turkish people talking. Oh...and of course, there is the underground scene of Berlin, which is incomparable to everything you have experienced. Great thing about Berlin is that it is really cheap in comparison with Holland. Where you pay 8 to 12 euros for a cocktail here, you pay half the price there. That is just fabulous! :)

For those of you who have never been in Berlin but want to have an impression of what the city looks like, I have selected some photos hereunder. These are by the way also must-sees for when you are in Berlin!

Love, Melissa
