After a cold winter, the weather is finally getting warmer and thus people want to spend more time outdoors. I love this time of year when I can sit outside and relax with my friends, that being in a park, at a cafe or just in my own garden. What I especially like about it, is the warm feeling of the sun on my skin...that destresses me A LOT! Of course, to complete the feeling, I like to be able to sit as comfortable as possible and therefore I have chosen the 'Fuse' collection by Manutti to fulfill that purpose. Take a look for yourself!

Nate Berkus
Dear readers,
For those of you who don't know who Nate Berkus is, he is an interior decorator who appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show on a regular basis. He now has his own show at the O Network and continues doing amazing work! I love his style and his creativity. You can definitely consider this post a little tribute to his work. Scroll down to see some interior decorations by Nate's hand!

This house was actually decorated for Eva Longoria's parents. They are originally from Mexico and Nate tried to bring that Mexian feel into their home. I think he pulled it off!

In almost every house Nate decorates he hangs a collage of family photos on the wall. He does this because he finds it important to make your house your own and personal photos do just that.

Simple yet sophisticated bathroom interior. The lights give the space a warm feel. Oh, and note the floor!

This living room has an oriental touch to it. I find it really elegant. The warm colors make the room feel cozy.

WOW, this bedroom is so beautifully decorated yet so unique! The walls seem like they have stayed untouched, but this really works here. For me, it actually makes the room! I would definitely get a good night sleep in here :)

This kitchen looks like it comes straight out of a restaurant...it's so spacious. The fact that sinc has been used for the cabinets and the closet makes it not only a whole, but really gives the kitchen a robust touch while still maintaining class.
What do you think of Nate's work?
Love, Melissa

I'm such a nerd! :)
Dear readers,
I love this book by Martha Stewart!

I recommend this book to anyone...that includes you! :)

I love this book by Martha Stewart!
I know, I know...pretty nerdy, but hey...I like my house to be neat and clean, although it actually never is :S Or then again, maybe not from my perspective! I don't know...either way, I like that this book covers all your needs and your questions when it comes to maintaining your household. The other day I had this stain on my wooden dinnertable and started to use the products I always use when trying to remove stains, but unfortunately it didn't came off. Then it suddenly hit me: I HAVE MARTHA STEWARTS BOOK! I went through the pages and read that neutral shoe polish works really well on stains on wood. I gave it a shot and guess what? It came off :) Where would I be without Martha? LOL!
I recommend this book to anyone...that includes you! :)
Love, Melissa

Tip: how to fold a fitted sheet!
Dear readers,
I don't know about you, but I'm always at war with my mattress sheets. At the end, it always looks like I didn't care how they were put in the closet, but I DO, REALLY! I just never knew how to fold those damn sheets, but those days are over. Check out this clip:
Where you as amazed as I was? I never thought that was possible!

Pretty tableware
Dear readers,
How lovely is it to have pretty tableware in the house for every occasion possible? If only I would have enough space in my apartment...I would definitely be in the possession of at least 8 different dinnerware sets and 5 tea sets! As you may have already noticed, I am a dreamy person, so why not dream about someday buying all the things below?!

I love the color green and would use this simple robust set when eating outdoors. (Asa)

Or how about this set for eating in the garden? It's perfect! (Villeroy & Boch)

When thinking of tea I immediately think of England. This typical English tea cup is definitely my cup of tea :) (Royal Albert)

Every home needs a plain dinnerware set, one that is elegant and suitable for every occasion. (Wedgwood)

Ok, officially in love with this antique silver set! This is actually stored in a museum and thus, unfortunately it will never be mine :(
As you can see, my taste is somewhat old fashioned, a bit romantic and luxurious. I'm not really into the modern square type of style. Although I sometimes think it's really pretty when eating in a restaurant, I would not buy it for myself (nor for my guests).
What kind of tableware do you prefer?
Love, Melissa

Indoor must-haves!
Dear readers,
I love to style my apartment! Unfortunately for me, money is not always at hand, but still...a girl can dream, right?! I have come across some really fabulous items which - from my perspective - are to die for!
First of all this old suitcase.

These type of suitcases were used by the elite to travel around the globe. Nowadays, they are used for multiple purposes, e.g. as a wardrobe (as seen in the picture).

I love this rug! It has such an African feel to it. The earth thone colors will make this rug warm up every house. (Zarahome.com)

This dressing table suits me perfectly, if I may say so myself :) The built-in mirror with its decorative cutting work gives this piece a luxurious feel to it. (Nickycornell.com)

These towels are especially made for the hamam, you know, the bathing houses which are used in Morocco and Turkey. Just by looking at these towels, I am ready to make an appointment! (Elle.com)

This box gives me the idea that it keeps a ancient secret. The craft work is amazing and I love the tiny lock. (Zarahome.com)
Would you buy any of these items?
