Queensday 2012!

Dear readers,

April 30 is a BIG day here in The Netherlands, because it is the late Queen's birthday, which we celebrate in a really ENORMOUS way! I will show you some pictures of it tomorrow, but for today I will only share with you a pastry that we eat today, called "Oranje tompoucen"! Haha, say what? Well "oranje" means orange, because the Royal family's last name is "Van Oranje" and "tompoucen" is just the name of the pastry. Anyway, I am sure you have seen the images of Queensday either online or on the television, so you know the colour orange is a returning theme in everything today, even in this pastry. See for yourself :)

Maxima, Princess of The Netherlands!

Dear readers,

Maxima, married to Prince Willem-Alexander and therefore a princess herself is highlighted in today's post. Why? Because I think she has ended a generation of wearing kind of old-fashioned clothes when belonging to the Royal family of The Netherlands. Maxima, a tall and blonde lady with roots in Argentina, is rocking her outfits to the ultimatum. Of course, she needs to look sophisticated and prevent looking trashy in any way, but she does love to search the boundaries of what she can and cannot wear. For example, she has been seen wearing a short leather skirt which, of course, all the tabloids wrote about haha! So...ready to see some pictures of Maxima and her outfits? Ready or not, here they are!

Kate and her hats!

I think many of you are aware of THE upcoming wedding of Prince William & Kate Middleton which will be tomorrow! I'm so curious about the dress Kate will wear, especially since knowing she designed it herself. In this post I wanted to show you some of the hats which Kate wore at different occassions. Wearing a hat is - I think - a tradition for all royal families around the world and I find it so much fun to see the hats female royalties picked out to wear. So, here she is pulling them off!
