Two important days!

Dear readers,

It has been a long time since I posted a quote, don't know why really, but let's try it again haha! This one resonates so much with me, I hope it does so with you too.

The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why - Mark Twain

I really find this to be true! The day you were born is so important, because it gave you life in the first place. I truly believe that every single one of us has been given the gift of life to really make something out of it, to discover your talents and gifts and ultimately your uniqueness, so you can use that and be the best version of yourself you can possibly be, while being of service to others. We all have a unique voice inside of us, but it's not only about discovering this unique voice, but actually giving yourself permission to use it. If we don't do this, it won't EVER be used by somebody else and thus eventually go to waste, simply because there is no one out there that resembles you, because again we are all unique human beings! Feel me here?

So today, stop for a minute and think about this! If you would have all the money in the world, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? What pumps you up, what is it you are so passionate about that you could give it your all whilst not having the feeling of actually working? Listen to your heart, you will know!

Good luck and let me know what the answer is! Maybe I can help you on your path towards your new life!

Let your imagination fly!

Dear readers,

You know how I love quotes and this one is no exception, especially since it is so actual for me right now! I have to hold on to these thoughts so to not wander away from my dreams out of fear. Do you know that feeling? Anyway, here is the quote I am referring to!

"One of the saddest lines in the world is, 'Oh come now - be realistic.' The best parts of this world were not fashioned by those who were realistic. They were fashioned by those who dared to look hard at their wishes and gave them horses to ride."

Isn't it a magnificent quote? I am loving it, simply because it is the truth! Today, instead of limiting your dreams with your own beliefs, let your imagination fly and expand your dream with all that seems impossible, but in reality is not! Nothing in this world is impossible, NOTHING!!! Like Henry Ford said "What you think you can and can't, it's true"!

What are your dreams and which step are you taking TODAY to build on that dream?

Your film!

Dear readers,

It has been a while since I posted a quote, but I have come across many good ones, so you will be seeing a lot of them in the near future, starting with this incredible one, which really made me stop and think about my life right now! Curious yet? I won't tease you...here it is :)

"One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching!"

What about you? Thinking about this one?! Let us not regret our lives when our time has come! There is no more today, enjoy and seize every moment! Let us better "regret" the things we have done in our lives than regret the things we haven't done, for every experience is an experience, a moment from which we can learn!

I wish this for you!

Scary choices!

Dear readers,

Every single one of us has dreams and every single one of us has the choice to eather pursuit these dreams or step back and only fantasize about how great life would be if only we would manifest these dreams. In an ideal world nobody would face any uncertainty's or fears, but (un)fortunately, we don't live in a bubble like that. And because of that, a whole lot of people, including myself at times, hold ourselves back because of the fear that we will not make it to the other side and therefore will "fail". However, what a lot of people forget is that:

1. Failure does NOT exist!
2. In order for a person to grow, one has to step outside of their comfort-zones!
3. You are a child of God and will therefore be provided for!

And most importantly:

4. You do NOT want do die with regrets!!!

A quote that fits this beautiful is the following:

"Always go with the choice that scares you the most, because that's the one that is going to require the most from you."

Now today, where can you go outside of your comfort-zone? Which choice could you make today that might not be the simplest one, but on which you can look back and really be happy that you made that choice? Which choice will make you grow as a person TODAY?

Let me know!

Give love away!

Dear readers,

Quotes keep inspiring me, I hope the ones I post here once in a while inspire you too.
Today, I read the lovely quote, or actually poem, below:

"A bell is no bell 'til you ring it,

A song is no song 'til you sing it,

And love in your heart

Wasn't put there to stay -

Love isn't love

'Til you give it away."

So cute, huh? I can actually sing it out loud...sounds pretty good to me haha! But it is not just cute, it is a truth which you and me and every one of us human beings should really act upon, so for today I say: GIVE YOUR LOVE AWAY AND BRIGHTEN SOMEONE ELSE'S DAY! Hey, I can rhyme too :)

See it as an addition, not a must...

Dear readers,

Great quotes make me smile! And they don't just make me smile, they also let me think about the truth to it! This one quote below is so true and eye opening I could not but LOVE it!

"Love is the free exercise of choice. Two people love each other only when they are quite capable of living without each other but choose to live with each other."

So beautiful put, right? We need to love ourselves fully, knowing that whether we are in a relationship or not, we would still be happy just by ourselves. But once we are in a romantic relationship, we choose to be and stay in that relationship not because we cannot live without one another or because we need that person, NO, it is because we LOVE the other person and WANT to be with that person! If you are not there yet, work on it, be gentle to yourself, LOVE yourself and THEN give your love to someone who deserves it, without compromising your own needs! One thing is for sure, you will be the one and only person with whom you need to live for the rest of your life, because people come and go!

That is wat love is all about in the end!

Love you!

Melissa

P.S. The answer should be "I DO"! :)

The violet!

Dear readers,

It has been a while since I last posted a quote, but today I came across a fabulous one, one which I needed to read a couple of times before it hit me. Let it hit you!

"Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it."

I think it points out exactly what forgiveness is all about, saying it with a touch of humor! Think about it! The violet is standing in a field, softly touched by the wind and warmed by the rays of the sun. Then, all of a sudden, some farmer with HUGE shoes comes along and crushes the violet, just like that! We, human beings would be screaming the lungs out of our bodies, letting the farmer know that what he did was unjustified and cruel and we would remain angry for a while, a few days, a months or sometimes even hold the grudge for a very long time if not forever! The violet however, crushed by the farmer's boots sheds its fragrances and by doing so, forgiving the farmer for its cruelty. Once the fragrances enters the farmer's nose, he will stop, smell and think about the violet and its uniqueness. Imagine we would shed fragrances when somebody hurts us...how amazing would that be? The one hurting us would stop, smell, look at us, think of us and would definitely be struck by our beauty and our ability to LOVE, despite the hurt. WOW...the world would be such a different place!

So, come on, lets all forgive one another, let us not stay in the angry mode, but let our light shine through us and on them!

Decision time!

Dear readers,

Sorry for not posting as much as you and I would both like me to do...I have just been so crazy busy! Last week has been so inspirational for me...I have been on an inspiration path lately :)

This time in my life I feel as though I am on a crossroad and thinking about taking a left or a right. Do you feel me? Have you ever gotten to that point? Share your thoughts with me, I would love to hear them!
Anyway, when I came across the quote below by Tony Robbins, it felt as if it were just for my eyes only!

"Remember, a real decision is measured by the fact that you've taken new action. If there's no action, you haven't truly decided."

Thinking about this, I know I haven't made a decision yet. I hope to do that sooner than later, because it is torturing me inside! On the other hand, I don't want to rush into anything! Pfff..I have to be patient, I guess!

Love you all,

Melissa

Poison!

Dear readers,

Don't stay in anger and resentment! You think you are hurting the other person by doing so, but you end up hurting yourself! Or as the old adage goes:

“Resentment is a cup of poison that you pour for someone else but end up drinking yourself.”

And you know what they say: a saying is not a saying for no reason! Learn from it!

Memory vs. imagination!

Dear readers,

Although I think it is great to have good memories and dwell on them from now and then, I also think it is really important to not just live out of memories, but to create new ones! Fantasize, think of all the things you would want in your life and act on that...I can guarantee you there will be so many more memories you will create then! Did you know the creation of art is much more limited than what life is able to create?! For example, people think a "happily ever after" only exists in movies, not in real life. But think about this for a moment, REALLY think about it! STOP! Think again! The script writer is like ourselves a human being and even though he might be more capable of fantasizing away than the average person, his fantasy is also limited, as where life and all its creations is NOT! Choose to fantasize!

"If we live out of our memory, we're tied to the past and to that which is finite. When we live out of our imagination, we're tied to that which is infinite."

Listen to the voice within!

Dear readers,

Those of you who read my blog on a regular basis know how much I love quotes. I think they make us aware of the deeper things in life aside from just being beautiful! Today's quote is really about loving and accepting yourself fully for the person you are, regardless of what other people say or may think. John Demartini really knows how to phrase this in a beautiful way, check it out:

"When the voice and the vision on the inside become more profound and more clear and loud than the opinions on the outside, you've mastered your life."

Love all that is you!

Act on that!

Dear readers,

When you take an honest look at your life and know deep within that you are not doing what you would love to do, think of the following quote by Rumi and act on it:

"Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love."

Only then life will unfold to you in its best way and only then will you love life exactly as it is, without wanting to change anything or without feeling anxious.

I wish all of you the greatest life possible!

Poem

Dear readers,

A beautiful poem by Jackson Kiddard:

"The bliss you seek

Can't be found by another

Not friend or dad or mom or lover

Begin within and you'll see

Its yourself that sets you free."

Try to live up to that!

Ignite!

Dear readers,

You can make someone's day without even knowing it! Give your fellow human being a compliment, give them a smile...who knows in what situation that person is and what that compliment of smile can do for him or her. Words are full of power, smiles are full of power! Let us use these to benefit not only others, but also ourselves!

As James Keller said it:

“A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.”

Much love,

Melissa

Not only an actor...

Dear readers,

The following quote was said by the famous actor James Dean:

"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today."

So many folks have said this in so many different ways, but all of them are so right! It's TIME for you to pursuit your dreams NOW...not tomorrow...NOW!!! If not now, when?

Man!

Dear readers,

Read the part below!

The Dalai Lama was asked what surprised him most, he said:

"Man.

Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.

Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.

And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

That is magic! Don't you think?

Our heritage!

"May my spirit be fragrant as this flower! May I always remember that as this flower fades, so will my body die; may my life on earth be more than body!"

I came across this quote in a book some time ago and could not hold it from you. I thought it was so beautiful and meaningful!

Make sure you leave things behind in this life that will remain vivid! Those things are the worthiest things of life!

Why not indeed?

Dear readers,

Don't be afraid, just do! You're already naked, as Steve Jobs would say, because we all die in the end! What do you have to lose?

Hang the following quote above your bed and remind yourself of it every single morning!

"For true success ask yourself these four questions: Why? Why not? Why not me? Why not now?"

Set the prisoner free!

Dear readers,

I love quotes. One little sentence with a lot of impact! Here another one!

"To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you."

- Lewis B. Smedes

Has any of you experienced this for yourself?

The journey of life!

Dear readers,

The journey of life is an interesting journey, one which you should only share with people you love and who love you back!

Those people will uplift you when things in life are not that great.
Those people will stand by you even when they don't agree with you.
Those people will have your back when others don't.
Those people will laugh with you and will cry with you, depending on the circumstances.
Those people will accept you for who you are.
Those people will not have the intention to change you into someone you are not.

Those people are the people who truly love you!

Can you say you are being surrounded by only those people or are you also surrounded by people who may not have the best interest for you?

Here a quote which I think suits perfectly with what I've written here above.

"Travel only with thy equals or thy betters; if there are none, travel alone."

- The Dahmmapada

Think about it! And let me know the outcome!
