Dutch summer!

Dear readers,

No, Dutch summer has still not come through as we are used to, but now and then the sun shines and we enjoy the outdoors as if there's no tomorrow :) I really enjoy taking pictures of those random days, you know...when you have a drink on a terrace, enjoying an ice cream by the lake or having a nice tour on my dad's boat. And of course, I also like sharing them with my dear readers. So here some shots I took these past few days. Hope you like them!

The Chinchilla!

Dear readers,

Today I wanted to share with you a photo of an animal you don't see very often: the chinchilla! Look how cute it is!

And guess who owns a chinchilla? Yep, that's right...ME!!! :) My little chinchilla is called Chester and he is already 10 years old and he is the sweetest and cutest animal EVER!!!  I am so lucky to have him! :)

Some pretty cool facts of the chinchilla are:

1. They can jump up to 1 meter.

2. They bath in sand.

3. They have the softest fur EVER (30 times softer than human hair)! This is actually so true that they are being killed by thousands just for their fur. A coat with chinchilla fur costs around $ 10.000 :(

4. They are monogamous.

5. They can literally bite through EVERYTHING!!!

Tulips!

Dear readers,

My home country, The Netherlands, is famous for its cheese, it's approach towards the legalisation of drugs and prostitution, but also for its tulips. Although tulips are actually originally from Turkey, we produce a lot of tulips here! As a matter of fact, every year there is this tulip exhibition called "Keukenhof" which is so stunning! In a week or two I will go and visit it for the first time ever, but for now I wanted to share with you these two pics, so you have an impression of what I am talking about plus after seeing these shots I am sure you can understand WHY I am talking about it :) Isn't is just beautiful???

It's official...

Dear readers,

Today, March 20, is the day in which it is official: Spring has arrived :) And I am feeling the sun already and I am hearing the birds singing, which by the way always brings a smile on my face :) Nothing better than a picture to mark this day!

As the baby bird in the picture, a new season has come, a new birth of the year, make it a new era for yourself also!

Honeybee!

Dear readers,

Look at this beautiful picture of a honeybee in a crocus in Germany! This is just the picture I needed to see today, since today is such a grey day here in Holland! Apparently, in Germany it is a whole lot different....looks as if Spring has begun there! And since we are neighbouring countries, I hope I will see this image soon in Holland as well!
